You know that gut feeling that often makes you hesitate when doing something. That little voice that sometimes says, "maybe this is not the right move." That's your intuition, and as women, we have a whole lot of that! Intuition exists in all of us, whether we acknowledge it or not. If only we listened to it, we could avoid a lot of heartaches. I, for instance, can feel when I'm crossing my boundaries, when a person is not suitable for me, or even when a business decision won't work. Like many of us, sometimes I shove the little voice to the side and move on with my "logical" reasoning. It often does not end well when I do that. Over the years and after many failed relationships and business decisions, I have learned a few tricks to start listening to my intuition.
1. Be Quiet and Listen
Find a physical space where you can sit down and listen to your inner self. If physical space is not possible, find room in your mind to be still and listen.
2. Meditate To Clear The Mind
A lot of times, we can't hear our thoughts because we have a lot in our minds. The best way to clear the clutter is to meditate and find stillness.
3. Trust How You Feel
Energy doesn't lie. If something feels off, it most likely is. Our body is an excellent indicator of energy and emotions; if you feel a knot in your stomach or any other physical sensation, your body signals that something is wrong.
4. Be Honest with Yourself
Just like we would lie to someone to not hurt their feelings, we often lie to ourselves to validate a situation or decision that doesn't serve us. The more honest you are with yourself, the better the outcome will be.
5. Forgive Yourself When Things Go Wrong
Intuition, like any other skill, needs to be practiced. The more you put it to use, the better you'll get at it. When you fail to listen to your intuition, don't harp over it and move on. Learn from it, but move on. You will know better next time.
I hope these tips help you better listen to that inner Alpha waiting to be heard. We would love to know how you practice listening to your intuition. Connect with us on IG!
